Stonehenge Mobility Manager

Stonehenge Mobility Manager (SMM) is a solution that allows to control the use of digital equipment, whether personal or property of the establishment or the community, within educational establishments.

iDRUIDE is launching Stonehenge Mobility Manager (SMM), a unified endpoint management solution (UEM) for monitoring and securing the use of schools’ digital equipment, while respecting data protection laws.

iDRUIDE supports digital transformation in the field of education. The company channels its digital, technological and educational expertise into developing tools for the classroom to facilitate learning and build the school of the future.

SMM is one of only 5 solutions in the world compatible with all the management features available on Android. With SMM you can manage Android tablets and phones (version 4.4 or later) as well as Windows tablets and computers (version 10 or later).

IT administrators can define a set of management rules for devices and users.

SMM can enrol consignments of individual tablets or mobile classrooms as well as BYOD devices, whether it’s an existing batch or a new set of tablets.

iDRUIDE is an Android Partner and users can now use Google Play Store without having to create their own accounts.

SMM also has zero touch enrolment, for simplified, automatic mass deployment of Android devices. When a user gets a new device, they simply need to enter their VLE password to open their workspace.

SMM groups together your VLE logins so you can access all your mobile devices.

SMM has 4 modules

(1) MDM

DEVICE MANAGEMENT

BYOD:

BYOD device users simply need to add their SMM and/or VLE account to their device. This creates a work account that is separate from their personal account and is the only account managed by SMM. It will feature the security policies and management rules requested by their IT department. The personal account remains private and is unaffected.

Settings:

With SMM you can configure Wi-Fi settings remotely, automatically connect devices to a predefined Wi-Fi network and add settings relating to the school’s proxy and captive portal.

You can establish rules for updates, such as applying them immediately, postponing them or scheduling them for a predefined date and time.

School tablets:

You can assign them as individual tablets or mobile classrooms. They are entirely managed by SMM.

Administrators can authorise a number of tasks, including resetting the classroom settings remotely. The user’s personal and school data can be kept separate so that the tablet can be used for personal reasons.

Kiosk mode:

The school can also configure some devices in kiosk mode. Kiosk mode is a restricted environment containing only apps and specific features. These tablets are freely available for use in areas such as libraries and canteens.

Security:

Administrators can decide to restrict access with a mandatory PIN or password. They can also configure a minimum security level by activating restrictions. We offer over 50 restrictions that can be applied to users according to their profiles.

To ensure users’ security, SMM can reset profiles and passwords, and even lock devices remotely and reboot data.

These features give SMM an optimum level of security and data protection.

IDENTITY MANAGEMENT

SMM lets you manage an identity according to the device and the user. Administrators can define management rules and restrictions to predefined groups of users according to their role and the security policies they want to attribute to them. These rules will be applied automatically to mobile devices assigned to these different groups of users according to the identity of the person connecting to the mobile device. The education module provides simplified identity management through the unique synchronisation and verification in SMM from the VLE.

APPLICATION MANAGEMENT

You can create a customised Google Play Store for your school with SMM. IT administrators can make several catalogues from this Google Play Store available, depending on the users and their educational level. In-app permissions can also be configured. Some compatible apps can be pre-configured before being deployed.

For example: Access to a limited catalogue of apps for an 11-year-old student which only shows apps chosen by the administrator that relate to their level of learning. A wider-ranging catalogue for a 15-year-old student, giving them more independence and freedom. A catalogue with no restrictions for teachers, so they can access the entire Google Play Store.

(4) EDUCATION

The solution can be adapted to the school setting and gives real added-value compared to traditional MDMs. VLE users are automatically created in SMM with their level and class. Teachers and all the administrative and educational staff have their profiles created automatically, along with their post. The user’s SMM login and password are the same as their VLE login information.

If the school doesn’t have a VLE, schools, levels, classes, student and teacher profiles, and accounts for other school staff can all be created in the education module. With SMM, teachers can guide their classes in real time thanks to our lesson management app.
